Country Living

Well, now that I'm over my mothering funk...  We had such a lovely day today.  After creating some very cool origami this morning (pictures to follow), Aden and I did some work on our chicken coop:
Then Aden killed me at checkers.  Then we made a trip to the poultry show at the fair.  Then we made a scrumptuous dinner of pulled barbeque pork sandwiches.

Aden has decided that he wants to adopt his chickens from the rescue organization even though they do not have the variety of breeds he has been hoping for.  This will both be very humane, as well as a way to select chickens based on personality and their ability to get along with one another.  I am proud that he is such a caring and responsible boy in this regard.

Living in the quiet and tranquil country means that we can take Bobcat outside, which he absolutely LOVES!!

He stays close to the house and close to me, but nothing beats a little exploring.  It is causing some sad moments, pictured here.  The other cats don't understand why they are confined to the house.
With his gimpy legs, Bobcat gets very tired from cruising the lawn and navigating the front stoop.  Then he needs a nap.  His best naps look like this.  Pure bliss!
