Overnight with the Bears!

Last night was our bear sleepover at the Minnesota Zoo!  Our evening was spent playing on the playground equipment, playing games, learning about bears, visiting bears and tigers close-up in their night-time holding cages and making vegetable popsicles.  It was chilly, but we slept outside near the bear enclosure, right next to the trout tank.
At the playground - Aden the Eagle chick.

Making popsicles for the bears in the zoo kitchen.

Aden selected celery, sweet potatoes and cantaloupe for his bear popsicle.  The popsicles went into the freezer to be given to the bears this morning.

Aden, Tara and I slept right next to the trout tank!  The night was filled with fish sounds - jumping, splashing and glug-ging!
Dave and Chad didn't join us for the sleepover part - they came this morning.

This morning the bears headed right out of their holding cages to look for their popsicles.  They also found a skunk!

MMMM!   Home made popsicles!
