A Moment

This afternoon I picked up Aden after school and felt completely exhausted, begging the universe for inspiration about a quiet, low-key activity that we could do for some quality time without driving me to the brink of incoherence.  We walked in the door, looked over, and there one of the snakes was shedding its skin.  In all the years of keeping snakes, we had never witnessed this mid-process before.  How exciting, interesting, and magical it was to watch this bright and freshly clean snake crawl out of its dull, crispy skin.  The very end of its tail stuck in a scaly old wrap, and Aden was overjoyed to gently help it get clear of the old and welcome the new.  What a lovely afternoon!
Tiny eye bubbles!!

You can almost see through it!  :)
