Fall

The spectacular colors of fall are raining down in the yard amid chilly waves of fresh air.  Sure signs that it is time to release our wild friends to their natural places so they can prepare for winter.  This is  a big deal here at our house.

Yesterday Aden's collection included two large frog tadpoles, one northern leopard frog, one wood frog, three american toads of varying sizes, one tiger salamander, and three baby snapping turtles.  Today only the salamander and tadpoles remain.

This morning the menagerie of critters accompanied Aden to third grade.  He had been anticipating this for weeks, as he LOVES sharing his animal friends with his human ones.

After school, we traveled around finding just the right spots for release.
Saying goodbye is not the fun part, but we will be back to work in the spring with new friends.

I SO LOVED THESE PICTURES. BUT, THE THIRD PICTURE FROM THE TOP REALLY STRUCK ME - HE LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE YOUR DAD! I HAD NOT SEEN THAT IN ANY OF THE OTHER PICTURES.
